PACKING GLAND
NB:
The
spindle
cannot
changed.
As a rule do not dismount packing
glands with internal pressure in the
valve. If the SNV valve, however, is
delivered after August 1995 it is pos-
sible to remove the packing gland
with the valve still under pressure if
the following precautionary mea-
sures are taken:
NB: Only SNV valves supplied
after August 1995 can be back-
seated! Fig. 4a-4b illustrates how,
you tell the difference between SNV
valves with and without backseating
facility.

1. Backseating (fig. 5): To backseat
the valve, turn the spindle anti-
clockwise until a light touch
against the stop is felt.

2. Pressure equalizing (fig. 6): It may
be that pressure builds up behind
the packing gland.
3. Now it is possible to dismount the
packing gland (fig. 7).
REPLACEMENT OF O-RINGS
AND GASKET (FIG. 8)
Replace the O-rings and gasket of
the packing gland by original Dan-
foss O-rings and gaskets or change
the complete packing gland. If there
are marks of blow on the spindle it
must be replaced.

LUBRICATION (FIG. 9)
For optimum tightness, fill the rail in
the middle of the packing gland with
original Danfoss grease (part No.
2452+143).
