6 Putting into operation

6.1 Mounting the feed rollers
DANGER
Risk of injury due to unexpected start-up.
For the entire duration of maintenance, servicing, dismounting and repair
work, the following instructions must be adhered to:
• Switch off the power supply.
• Close off the gas supply.
• Pull the mains plug.
WARNING
Danger of crushing
Limbs can be drawn in and crushed.
• Do not reach into moving wheels.
NOTE
• The welding torch system may only be put into operation by trained
personnel.
NOTE
• Ensure correct mounting of the knurled screws. Knurled screws of
pressure rolls (2), knurled screws of drive rollers (4).
• Ensure correct mounting of the feed rollers.
Feed rollers - drive rollers (5), feed rollers - pressure rolls (11).
• The feed rollers are delivered with anti-corrosive. Prior to mounting, clean
the feed rollers and replace or reverse them always in pairs.
• Pay attention to groove geometry and wire diameter; use smooth feed
rollers only as pressure rolls.
• All grooved feed rollers have two guide grooves. Should one be worn
out, then the feed roller can be reversed once and used again.
• Set the contact pressure once on the spring-loaded feed rollers (5)
and (11) in the pressure rocker (9).
• When assembling the pressure rocker (9), make sure that the axles (8)
(anti-twist protection pin) are positioned in the lower longitudinal groove.
• All grooved feed rollers (5) and (11) have two guide grooves. Should
one be worn out, then the roller can be reversed once and used again.
• Always replace the feed rollers (5) in reverse order.
