Aligning the Stylus

To align the stylus, the measuring surface of the Tool Setter is touched (manually) by a dial gauge which is
installed in the spindle and afterwards the measuring surface is sensed along the X- and Y-axes. The deviation
measured with this procedure must be <5 µm (refer to Fig. 17). If the measured value for the deviation exceeds
this limit the stylus must be aligned as follows.
1. Using the hexagon key AF3 mm turn the adjustment screws to lower/lift the Tool Setter at the appropriate point
and to correct the inclination (refer to Fig. 17).
2. Repeat procedure for other adjustment screws if necessary.
3. Check all adjustment screws for a tight fitting and tighten if necessary.
4. Repeat the measurement with the dial gauge and repeat steps 1. and 2. if there is still a deviation.
5. Calibrate Tool Setter (refer to chapter Fig. 17).
