Connect the power.
Connect the power cable to the back of the chassis, and then connect the
other end of the power cable to your local power source.
NOTE: The power usage is 150 Watts Max or 510 BTU/hr.
STOP: If you have CMS 5.0 (or later), you can stop here and use auto-
deployment to configure the device automatically.
Configure Network Settings.
Use the front-panel keypad and LCD to assign an IP address, the subnet
mask, and the default gateway as follows:
• Press Enter (center button) twice to initiate configuration.
• Use the up and down arrow buttons to display a
number (between 0-9).
• Use the left and right arrow buttons to move to
the previous or next character.

• Use the Enter button (center) to make a selection.

NOTE: By default, the 10/100/1000 interfaces are set to auto-negotiate
the speed and duplex mode. However, it is strongly recommended that you use the front panel to set the interface speed

and duplex mode manually. The LOCAL port settings should match the interface settings of the switch, and the REMOTE
port settings should match the interface settings of the router.

After you have entered the network settings, choose Save to save the device configuration.
Check the LEDs next to the 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports.
• If the LINK LEDs light, the device is properly connected. If the LINK
LEDs do not light, toggle the MDI/MDI-X buttons (WX 50 only).
• On the WX 60 and WXC 500, the SPEED LEDs indicate 100 or 1000
Mbps connectivity. To verify the speed, use the front panel or the CLI.
On the WX 50, 100M LEDs indicate 100 Mbps connectivity.

• On the WX 60 and WXC 500, press Bypass Disable to block traffic
during a power failure (used in high-availability environments).
After checking the LEDs, you should verify connectivity across the
device again (as described in Step 3).
