QUICK START
Before you begin:
Welcome to the Juniper WX 50, WX 60, and WXC 500 application acceleration platforms.
These 2 rack-unit network infrastructure devices are deployed on the LAN side of the edge
router. Using this quick start card, these devices can be installed and operational in a matter
of minutes.
•
Inspect the package contents. Refer to the package contents document
enclosed with the product.
•
Ensure sufficient power is available. Supply circuits should be protected
by a maximum 20A circuit breaker.
•
Ensure a minimum of 6 inches clearance in the front and back of the
chassis.
•
Verify that all firewalls between WX devices allow traffic on TCP/UDP
ports 3577 and 3578, and for IPComp, the IP payload compression proto-
col used for reduction tunnels between devices (protocol number 108).
•
Identify a 10/100 Ethernet LAN port (for a WX 50) or a 10/100/1000 LAN
port (for a WX 60 or WXC 500) that transmits data to your WAN router.
This port is typically from an aggregation switch, or from another LAN
device connected directly to the router.
•
Obtain a permanent license key. The license key determines the through-
put levels for the device, and properly registers the product. To obtain a
permanent license key, go to https://www.juniper.net/generate_license.
