Risk of explosion: Explosive substanc-
es in lab extraction units may ignite and
cause serious explosions or fire. Aggressive
substances may damage the ventilation unit.
 Never use ventilation unit in combination
with a lab extraction unit.
Risk to health from chemicals or
aggressive gases/vapours.
Chemicals or aggressive gases/vapours may
harm health, especially if they are distributed
throughout the rooms by the ventilation unit.
 Never use ventilation unit to convey chemi-
cals or aggressive gases/vapours.
During the build phase, damage to
unit caused by contamination of the
ventilation unit.  Ventilation unit operation
is not permitted during the build phase.
Grease and oil vapours from range
hoods may contaminate the ventila-
tion unit and reduce efficiency.
 The ventilation unit should not be used with
range hoods in exhaust air mode. Recom-
mendation: In terms of energy consumption,
use range hoods in circulating air mode.
Damage to unit caused by condensate
if ventilation units with enthalpy ex-
changers are used in rooms with exhaust
air humidity with an air humidity of > 70 % RH.
 Never use ventilation units with enthalpy
exchangers for long periods at an air humidity
> 70 % (can be used briefly up to an RH of
around 80%) (for example in swimming pool
complexes or to dry out new builds). The ven-
tilation unit does not have a condensate drain
and will be damaged by excess condensate
that cannot be removed. The surroundings
may also be damaged by water escaping.
Corrosion of metal parts inside the
ventilation unit by additional compo-
nents in the exhaust duct.
 Do not use components which affect
temperature, moisture or air volumes on the
exhaust duct, for example if a drying cabinet
is connected to the exhaust duct.
7 Safety instructions and warnings | UK
Magnetically sensitive objects: The
two block magnets for fixing the front
plate are very strong. Some objects react
sensitively to the static magnetic fields of
the permanent magnet. Various objects
can be temporarily disturbed and also
permanently damaged. For example, do not
bring magnetic cards (credit, bank, EC, car
park or admission tickets), watches, hearing
aids, hard disks, etc. too close to the perma-
nent magnets..
Read and observe the safety instruc-
tions. Ask your specialist installer to
instruct you in how to use the ventilation
units/operating units.
Risks for people (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or a lack of knowl-
edge.  Only have ventilation unit installed,
commissioned, cleaned and maintained by
persons who can safely recognise and avoid
the risks associated with this work .
Risk to health if filters are not re-
placed or there are no air filters.
Heavily contaminated or damp air filters may
collect substances hazardous to health (e. g.
Schimmel, Keime). This may also happen if
the ventilation unit is not used for a long time.
If there are no air filters, the ventilation unit
and ducts become dirty. Unfiltered substances
may enter the rooms.
 Never operate ventilation unit without air
filters.
 Only use original air filters.
 Note the filter change
display and change the air filters regularly.
Replace them after 6 month at the latest.
 Take prescribed filter class into account.
 If ventilation unit has not be used for a long
time, always replace the air filters .
