Installing a flow cell
The instrument and lamp need not be switched off when exchanging
the flow cell but the lamps should be switched off or the shutter
should be closed. Otherwise, UV light might harm your eyes. The
instrument is ready for immediate operation after proper installation
of a flow cell.
Never touch optical parts (e.g. the optical fiber in the center of the
fiber optical cables' SMA connectors) with your hands. If it does
happen
accidentally,
isopropanol.
Fiber optical cables are very sensitive to bending and may break
easily. They must be handled very carefully and may only be bent as
little as necessary for connecting the flow cell.
A broken fiber optical cable causes very low light intensity which leads to
very high noise and drift.
Since the lifetime of fiber optical cables depends very much on it's
handling by the user, these cables, as well as lamps, are normally
not covered by any warranty (except where the user can prove that
it is not his fault or that the instrument was already delivered with a
bad fiber optical cable or lamp).

Capillary connections

1. Connect the outlet of the HPLC column to the inlet bushing of the
flow cell (lower side).
2. Push the bushing, the clamping ring, and the sealing ring onto the
capillary (for standard connections just use the respective bushing
and clamping ring). Please take care to note the sequence and
orientation of the fittings according to Fehler! Verweisquelle konnte
