Term Explanation
ACU Accounting Control Unit
Unit for communication with the SCUs
/ HCC 3s of the charging stations and
for connection to backend systems. An
ACU is installed in the eMobility-Gate-
way and Smart charging stations.
Auto switch The device detects the connected
charging cable and controls two
separate load circuits (16 A / 32 A)
with corresponding fuse protection.
Consequently, both 20 A and 32 A
charging cables can be used at a sin-
gle charging point.
Backend sys- Infrastructure for controlling charg-
tem ing stations and managing personal
access data.
eHZ Electronic household counter
Mode 3 Charging mode for vehicles with com-
(IEC 61851) munication interface on charging cou-
plers type 2.
RFID Authorisation option via RFID card to
devices.
RS-485 Bus Interface standard for digital data
transmission. In this case: Connection
between ACU and up to 16 SCUs.
SCU Socket Control Unit
Unit used to control each charging
