5. Installation

The tasks described in this section may only be
carried out by a qualified electrician.
5.1

Choice of location

The device is solely intended for fixed wall mounting. A
suitable location meets the following requirements:
„ Networked devices are in sufficient proximity to each
other (up to 300 m).
„ Technical data and mains data are the same.

„ Permissible ambient conditions are observed.

5.2 Permitted ambient conditions

Danger of injury and fire
If the device is operated in potentially explosive atmos-
pheres (explosive area), explosive substances may ignite
due to sparking of components of the device.
f Do not use the device in potentially-explosive atmos-
pheres (e.g. at gas filling stations).

ATTENTION
Device damage due to unsuitable ambient conditions
An unsuitable choice of location may cause damage to the
device. Please note the following points when choosing a
location:
f Check that the surface is suitable for wall mounting
(Wall structure with at least double-layer drywall).
f Do not place the device in areas at risk of flooding.
f Protect the device from direct water jet.

5.3 On-site installation

Fire hazard due to device overload
There is a fire hazard due to overloading of the device
caused by unsuitable supply line.
f Route the supply line according to the technical data of
the device.

When dimensioning the supply line (cross section
and line type), always ensure the following local
conditions:
„ Type of installation
„ Cable parameters per unit length
„ Line length
f Lay the supply line to the location. Possibilities for cable
entry can be found at the upper case (2 x M40) and at
the lower case (1 x M40 and 2 x M20) on the device.
For the cable entry from below, it is not possible
to loop through the supply line.
