Intrinsic safety of SD01A

Assume for the sake of example an interconnection consisting of the
following components (see Fig. 3.4):
1. A processing device (measuring amplifier) which is located outside the
potentially explosive atmospheres. Nothing further is required of this unit,
except that it must not contain any voltage sources when operating
normally or defectively and must not be supplied with voltage sources that
exceed the ground potential of a voltage amounting to 250V rms or 250V
DC.
2. The following Pepperl & Fuchs Zener barriers in accordance with
Certificate BAS01ATEX7005, Ex II (1) GD [EEx ia] IIC
(−20 °C < Ta < +60 °C)
1 x Z961
2 x Z961H.
The Zener barriers must be located outside the potentially explosive
atmospheres.
3. Up to 6 load cells from Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik GmbH
a. Types C16, C2, U2, PW in accordance with Certificate
PTB01ATEX2208,
(Ci=number of parallel load cells x 162pF/m x cable length,
Li=0.6μH/m x cable length)
or
b. Types HLC, RSC, PWS, THC, Z6 in accordance with Certificate
PTB01ATEX2209,
(Ci=number of parallel load cells x 162pF/m x cable length,
Li=0.6μH/m x cable length)
or
c. Types RTN in accordance with Certificate PTB01ATEX2211
(Ci=number of parallel load cells x 400pF/m x cable length, Li=100uH +
0.6μH/m x cable length)
designated Ex II 2 G [EEx ia] IIC T6 (−20°C < Ta < +40 °C) or Ex II 2 G
[EEx ia] IIC T4 (−20°C < Ta < +70 °C) with Pi limited to 1.25 W.
NOTE
Types RTN may only be operated with DC amplifiers.
