Barriers are usually located in racks or control cabinets. They can be built into
enclosures under manufacturing conditions, provided that the enclosure offers
enough protection.
Installation must be carried out in such a way that the intrinsic safety is not
adversely affected by the following points:
− Danger of mechanical damage
− Unauthorized modifications or exertion of influence by outside personnel
− Moisture, dust or foreign bodies
− Exceeding the permissible ambient temperature
− Connecting non-intrinsically safe circuits to intrinsically safe circuits
