Before first use
• Before first use, wash the glass jug, the filter
and the filter holder in hot soapy water. Rinse
thoroughly with clean water.
• Operate the appliance once as described in
section "Espresso", but without ground
Espresso coffee in the filter.
It is advisable to perform this operation again
after a period of disuse.
Espresso
Espresso is made by pressing hot water
rapidly and at a pressure through ground
Espresso coffee.
This tasty Espresso is served in special small-
sized (50 ml) cups.
- Unscrew the lid of the water tank (fig. 2).
- Pour in exactly the amount of water which
corresponds to the amount of espresso you
wish to make. (Two or four cups.) Use your
glass jug for measure (fig. 3).
- Screw the lid tightly (fig. 4).
Insert the filter into the filter holder (fig. 5).
- Pour ground Espresso coffee into the filter. The
level indications correspond with 2 and 4 cups
of Espresso (fig. 6). Shake lightly to distribute
the coffee evenly. Do not press the coffee
down!
- If necessary, wipe the rim of the filter clean.
- Position the filter holder (fig. 7) and screw
tightly into place (fig. 8).
- Place the jug underneath the outlet opening of
the filter holder (fig. 9).
- Ensure that the water tank lid is closed. Check
that the filter holder is positioned correctly.
Then switch on (fig. 10) and set the control
knob to position k (fig. 11).
- After about 5 minutes the water will have
reached the appropriate temperature. The
water is pressed through the ground coffee and
after a few seconds the Espresso coffee will
start flowing into the jug (fig. 12).
- Switch off when no more Espresso flows from
the appliance (fig. 13).
- Remove the jug from the appliance and pour
the Espresso into the cups.
- Serve and savour your Espresso right away!
