CONTROLLER MODES
W1: In W1 (Wave) Mode, the pump will operate at your desired speed setting, for a pre-
determined length of time then stop before the next pulse. The frequency of these pulses,
either fast or slow, will allow you to create waves within your aquarium. Changing the pump
speed will help to create a larger wave. Depending on the shape and size of your aquarium you
will have to adjust the knob slowly to see the changes in the wave period. We would suggest
that you wait 60 seconds between adjustments so that you can notice the difference in waves,
when attempting to get the wave motion moving. Useful tip: Place a pump in the middle of
the aquarium water column at one end and then a second at the other end for the best wave
effect in "Master/Slave" mode. All pumps will work in sync with each other when using two or
more units in master-slave formation.
W2 In W2 (Surge) Mode, the pumps will speed up and slow down without stopping. This will
enable you to keep a constant, yet surging flow. The pumps will work in sync with each other. It
is best to place the pumps on the same side in this mode for high flow around the aquarium in
a circular (gyre-like) motion. You will create a low to high flow "sine-like" wave underwater.
R: In R (Random) Mode the pumps will all work randomly and independently of each other.
However, when linked wirelessly, the adjustment knob will vary the random changes from fast
to slow on all pumps that are connected. The random movements do not sync up.
C In C (Constant) Mode, all pumps will run constantly at your speed settings. As there is no
pulsing required, the adjustment knob has no effect in this mode.
A In A (Alternating) Mode each pump will work one at a time. The working period can be
chosen by adjusting the knob on the controller. This will allow each pump to work for a
duration of between 1 second and 2 minutes at a time.
Please note: You may hear a whining noise as the motor revs up and down. In most cases this
is not overly audible over the other general marine equipment and is generally more noticeable
in the larger pump models. It is NOT a fault with the pump.
