PUMP OPERATION
The REEF-Flow pump has several functions to control output and wave type. We advise you
speak with your local fish shop to determine which settings will be best for the species of
corals and the aquarium size you own. A little experimentation is often required to achieve the
best results, as no two setups or scapes are the same.
MODE/NIGHT: A short press of this button will allow you to select the different flow modes
of the pump. Pressing this button for 3 seconds will enable "night mode". When "night mode" is
enabled, the controller will automatically switch the pump(s) to a constant and slow flow, when
the controller detects the aquarium lights have been switched off. It will return to its previous
state when the aquarium lights are switched on again. Pressing this button for 3 seconds will
then disengage "night mode". Useful tip: Place the controller in a position where the aquarium
lights will shine onto it, e.g on a wall (mounted using velcro or similar - not supplied).
SPEED/FEED: A short press of this button adjusts the flow rate from the pump with 8 stages
of flow adjustment. By pressing this button for 3 seconds, the controller will enter "Feed
t
Mode" and power down the pump(s) for 10 minutes. It will return to its previous settings
automatically after this time. You can cancel this early by simply holding this button for a
further 3 seconds when in "Feed Mode". Useful tip: Use "Feed Mode" to feed your corals or
tricky-to-feed fish and invertebrates.
WIRELESS/ LOCK: A short press of this button will activate the wireless capability and allow
f
you to cycle through "Master", "Slave" and "Off' with further short presses. When in "Master"
mode, all controllers that are in "Slave mode" and within wireless range, will mimic any pulse
and mode settings from the master, including changes to settings. When no lights are showing
d
above "Master" or "Slave" on the controller, wireless mode is off, allowing all pumps to operate
individually. A 3 second press will lock the controller, meaning that any adjustments or
movements of the control knob are ignored. Doing so will stop any accidental knocks which
n
may make the waves too large. Pressing for 3 seconds again will unlock the controller.
When a pump is in "Slave" mode, you can still fine tune the water flow speed to suit your
application.
a
ADJUSTMENT KNOB FAST/SLOW: This knob adjusts the speed at which the pump pulses.
The pump flow around the aquarium will be adjusted differently depending on the mode (see
below). For example, in W1 mode this will change the wave period (time between waves) and
eventually, the wave height.
