What You Can Learn About Your Wireless Network?
Do a ping test. Connect to a network or access
point, then press
Ping targets can be added by selecting Tools >
Manage profiles / network passwords >
Edit targets > Add. You can add a target with
an IP address or hostname (URL).
If an * is on the right of Connect, this indicates
security has not been configured on the tester
for that network. Press Connect* and you are
guided through entering the security settings.
 Does the network interface card in a client
operate correctly?
Select Clients, then look in the SSID column.
Dashed SSIDs are probing clients and clients with an
SSID name displayed are associated clients. Press
and see if the client transmits probe request frames.
What Causes Slow Network Performance or Dropped

 Is the signal strength sufficient?
Select Access Points. The Access Points screen
shows the signal strength for each access point.
Select an access point to see more details about the
signal strength and congestion.
 Is the network too busy?
Select Channels to see an overview of channel
usage and the number of access points that use
