Replacing the speech diaphragm or O-ring
Full face masks with metal speech diaphragms:
 Pull the inner mask out of the groove of the threaded ring.
 Unscrew the threaded ring with the pin wrench.
 Turn the pin wrench and carefully insert it in the holes of the
protective grille. Do not damage the foil on the diaphragm.
 Turn the speech diaphragm to remove it.
 Remove the O-ring from the connector using the sealing ring lifter.
 Check the speech diaphragm and O-ring and replace them if
necessary.
 Insert the O-ring and the speech diaphragm.
 Screw in the threaded ring.
 Attach the inner mask. Make sure that the edge lies in the groove
all around. The centre markings on the connector and on the inner
mask must coincide.
Full face masks with plastic speech diaphragms:
 Pull the inner mask out of the groove of the speech diaphragm.
 Unscrew the speech diaphragm with the pin wrench.
 Remove the O-ring from the connector using the sealing ring lifter.
 Check the speech diaphragm and O-ring and replace them if
necessary.
 Insert the O-ring.
 Screw in the speech diaphragm.
 Attach the inner mask. Make sure that the edge lies in the groove
all around. The centre markings on the connector and on the inner
mask must coincide.
Replacing the exhalation valve disc
 Replace the exhalation valve disc (see "Visual inspection of the
exhalation valve" on Page 17).
 Fit the exhalation valve cover. Ensure that it locks into place.
Replacing the inhalation valve or inhalation valve disc
 Pull out the inhalation valve at the flap.
 Remove the old valve disc and fit the new disc.
 Press the inhalation valve into the connector until it has even
contact all around. The valve disc must not be jammed, the disc
points inwards, the supports point outwards.
The R 56 636 inhalation valve seat can be used instead of the
R 53 870 inhalation valve seat.
Transport
Transport the full face mask in a carrying box or mask bag.
Storage
 Loosen the harness as far as possible (tab).
 Wipe uncoated visors with an anti-static cloth. Do not wipe coated
visors.
 Pack the full face mask in its accompanying bag or box.
 Store it in a dry, dust-free place where it cannot become deformed.
Storage temperature –15 °C to +25 °C.
Protect from direct sunlight and thermal radiation.
Observe ISO 2230 and national regulations concerning the storage,
maintenance and cleaning of rubber products.
Dräger rubber products are treated with an agent to protect against
premature ageing which in some cases is visible as a grey-white
coating. This coating can be washed off with a brush and soapy water.
Disposal
Dispose of the full face mask in accordance with the applicable rules
and regulations.
