 Mount the accessories, if necessary.
NOTICE

i
The full face masks with PC disc can also be cleaned and
disinfected in the washing machine. Further information can
be obtained from Dräger.
Checks
Check the full face mask according to the inspection and maintenance
intervals.
Visual inspection of the speech diaphragm
 Remove the speech diaphragm (see "Replacing the speech
diaphragm or O-ring" on Page 19).
Visual inspection of the inhalation valve
 The inhalation valve is visible in the connector. Check whether the
valve disc is freely movable by blowing into it. Replace the valve
disc if necessary.
Visual inspection of the exhalation valve
 Remove the exhalation valve cover from the connector and pull
out the valve disc.
 The valve disc and valve seat must be clean and undamaged.
Otherwise clean and replace.
 Moisten the valve disc with water and insert it.
Leak tests
Perform the leak test with a suitable test unit (e.g. from the Testor or
Quaestor series).
(1) Checking leak tightness
 Moisten the inside of the face seal with water and set the full face
mask on the test head (see "Donning the full face mask and
checking the functional integrity" on Page 14).
 Inflate the test head until the face seal fits everywhere.
 Seal the connector with the adapter.
 Generate a negative pressure of 10 mbar.
The full face mask is considered leak-tight if the change in pressure
after 1 minute does not exceed 1 mbar. Otherwise continue with (2).
(2) Checking leak-tightness by sealing the exhalation valve
 Remove the exhalation valve disc.
 Insert the exhalation valve plug and fasten it with the spring
carrier.
 Generate a negative pressure of 10 mbar.
 Remove the exhalation valve plug if the pressure difference is less
than 1 mbar after 1 minute, insert a new valve disc and repeat the
leak test. Otherwise, continue with (3).
(3) Leak test under water
 Completely immerse the test head with the applied full face mask
in water.
 Create an overpressure of approx. 10 mbar and slowly turn the
immersed test head.
Emerging air bubbles indicate the leak.
 Remove the test head and applied full face mask from the water
and seal the leaks.
 Remove the exhalation valve plug and insert the exhalation valve.
 Repeat the leak test.
After testing
 Disconnect the adapter.
 Remove the full face mask from the test head and dry it if
necessary.
 Fit the exhalation valve cover. Ensure that it locks into place.
