proceed as follows:
1. Check the contents of the pack (see fig. 11);
2. drill a hole in the pin of the door handle using a 3mm diam. bit (see fig. 12);
3. fix the plate (1 fig. 12) to the door lock guard (2 fig. 13) using the same screws as the door guard;
4.
remove the manual release from the gear motor (3 fig. 13) and fix the external release device in its place (4 fig. 13);
5. thread the metal cable through the relative screw (5 fig. 13) on the plate,
6. adjust the length of the cable until the door is released (the door handle turns) and fix with the screw (6 fig. 13);
7. optimise travel of the door by adjusting the screw mounted on the plate (5 fig. 13) before fixing the relative lock nut (7 fig. 13).
NOTE:
on installation, check the cut of the sheath, which must be clean to avoid blocking, before applying the cable terminal;
to avoid blocking, avoid right angles or acute when extending the cable to the handle;
grease all moving parts to ease the return of the cable;
from time to time, check that the mechanism is working correctly, if necessary act on the sheathing adjustment nuts.
5.
REBALANCING THEOVERHEAD GARAGE DOOR
Once the garage door has been installed add counterweights until it is properly balanced. This guarantees minimum strain onthe automation
with all the benefits. The garage door is correctly balanced when it stops at half of its run.
6. INSTALLING THE PAIR OF SIDE MOTORS (fig. 15)
This type of installation is compulsory for garage doors that have secondary doors in them and is also recommended if garage door surface
exceeds 7 m².
6.1 INSTALLATION MATERIALS (fig. 15)
1
(Art.150KITB1D1S):
Blistered pack of accessories containing:
2 (Art.150KITBCL1)*:
3 nr. 2 gearmotor, series SPIN, complete with:
Blistered pack of accessories containing:
*
The curved telescopic arms are used when the distance between the overhead door and its frame is less than 15 mm (fig. 14).
6.2 FIXING OF LONGITUDINAL FRAME MEMBERS AND GEARMOTORS (fig. 16)
Use suitable self-threading screws to fix them to the overhead garage door frame.
N.B. Position the gearmotor at the centre of the overhead door, for non-protruding overhead doors, see fig. 16/A.
6.3 INSTALLING THE TELESCOPIC ARMS (fig. 17)
1. If the overhead garage door has not been so designed, fix the top supporting brackets as shown in fig. 5 with suitable self-threading screws
(maintain the measurements given in fig. 7/A).
2. Cut both of the components of the telescopic arms, maintaining the measurements given in fig. 7/B.
3. Fix the telescopic arms.
7. MANUAL UNLOCK (fig. 18)
N.B.: The release device lever may appear to be jammed at times. This is due to the force applied by the gear motor which varies according to
the size and weight of the up-and-over door. Simply apply greater pressure to the lever to move it.
A manual release kit is available on request. This allows you to turn
the handle of the up-and-over door from the outside.
N.B.: NEVER INSTALL BOTH RELEASE DEVICES ON THE SAME HANDLE (see fig. 19).
ATTENTION
- If the overhead door is very large (over 7m²), 2 handles are normally already fitted; if not, install another one in order to mount
the release device on the other motor.
- If the overhead door is fitted with a pedestrian entrance and has just one handle, install another one in order to mount the re-
lease device on the other motor.
To mount it correctly, proceed as follows:
1. Check the contents of the pack (see fig. 11);
2. drill a hole in the pin of the door handle using a 3mm diam. bit (see fig. 12);
3. fix the plate (1 fig. 13) to the door lock guard (2 fig. 13) using the same screws as the door guard;
4.
remove the manual release from the gear motor (3 fig. 13) and fix the external release device in its place (4 fig. 13);
5. thread the metal cable through the relative screw (5 fig. 13) on the plate,
6. adjust the length of the cable until the door is released (the door handle turns) and fix with the screw (6 fig. 13);
7. optimise travel of the door by adjusting the screw mounted on the plate (5 fig. 13) before fixing the relative lock nut (7 fig. 13).
Mount the release kit on the second motor in the same way.
