The product must be installed only by qualified persons, according to the local safety standards and regula-
tions. It is classified as Class II, in accordance with EN 60065 and, for this reason, it shall not be connect to
the protective earth (PE) of the supply mains.
Installation warnings
Use only the original power cable, installing the product so that the mains plug is easily accessible.
The product must not be exposed to dripping or splashing and thus it shall be installed indoors, in a dry
place.
Don't install the product above or close to heat sources, in dusty places or where it might come into con-
tact with corrosive substances.
Leave some space around the product housing (at least 8 cm over and under) to ensure sufficient ventila-
tion; an excessive operating temperature and/or an excessive heating may affect the performance and
the life of the product
To prevent injury, this product must be securely attached to the wall, on the floor or in a rack in accordance
with the mounting instructions given on Chapter 2. PRODUCT INSTALLATION.
In accordance with the European Directive 2004/108/EC (EMC), the product shall be installed using devices,
cables and connectors that allow to comply with this directive requirements for fixed installations.
Earthing of the antenna system
The product must be connected to the earth electrode of the antenna system, in accordance with standard
EN 50083-1, section 10. The screw to be used for this scope is marked with the symbol
mended to follow the provisions of EN 50083-1 and not to connect the screw to the protective earth (PE) of
the supply mains.
IMPORTANT: Open the cover only for audio and video regulation and for insertion and removal of the CAM
modules or the single receivers; therefore, never do any operation on the internal circuits of the product and,
in particular, never remove the metal cover, which protects the main power supply section (left side), to avoid
the access to hazardous voltage parts. Only instructed and authorized persons can open the product. In
case of failure, do not try to repair the product; otherwise the guarantee will no longer be valid.
The headend has to be installed by using the supplied brackets and screw. Take the assembling brackets
out from the package and pull the headend out. Some holes are present on the filling cardboard to show
the position of the bracket holes. This cardboard can be used to mark the position on the wall where drilling
the holes for the screws. Install the brackets by referring to Figure 3, if the unit will be installed on the floor;
refer to Figure 4, if the unit is installed on the wall. Leave enough room to disconnect the supply cable and
open the front panel.
It is also possible to install the headend on the 19" rack cabinets (see Fig. 5), see your Fracarro catalogue for
information relevant to be used and cabinet size.
Install the headend, following the above-mentioned figures; any other type of installation can compromise
the headend operation.
NOTE: we recommend that you take note of the key code on the front panel in the event that the key
is lost.
The receivers can be connected to a universal converter (LNB) by using external splitters, if necessary, to
divide the signal (see Fig. 8 as an example). To use headend, if you use more than one receiver for the same
polarization with universal LNB, only one module must power the LNB. If you do not need this warning, the
images could freeze. Use a (LNB) converter with 4 H/V separate outputs to connect the multi-switches and
refer to Figure 9.
NOTE: the total maximum current of remote power supply is 400mA (@ 14V).
