Indicating the remaining battery capacity
Only for battery cartridges with the indicator

Press the check button on the battery cartridge to indi-
cate the remaining battery capacity. The indicator lamps
lig h t up f or a f e w se c on d s.

ambient temperature, the indication may differ slightly
from the actual capacity.

WARNING:
Before installing the battery car-
tridge into the tool, always check to see that the
switch trigger actuates properly and returns to
the " OFF " position when released.
WARNING:
NEVER defeat the lock-off button
by taping down or some other means. A s w it c h w it h
a negated lock-off button may result in unintentional
operation and serious personal injury.
WARNING:
NEVER use the tool if it runs when you
simply pull the switch trigger without pressing the lock-off
button. A switch in need of repair may result in unintentional
operation and serious personal injury. Return tool to a Makita
ser v i c e c enter f or proper repairs BE F O R E f urt h er usage.
To prevent the switch trigger from being accidentally pulled, a lock-
of f button is prov id ed . T o start th e tool, d epress th e loc k-of f button
and pull th e sw itc h trigger. R elease th e sw itc h trigger to stop.

NOTICE:
Do not pull the switch trigger hard
without pressing in the lock-off button. T h is c an
c ause s w it c h breakage.
CAUTION:
The tool starts to brake the cir-
cular saw blade rotation immediately after you
release the switch trigger. Hold the tool firmly to
respond the reaction of the brake when releasing
the switch trigger. S u d d en rea c tion c an d rop t h e tool
off your hand and can cause a personal injury.

I f t h e tool is operate d w it h e x c essi v e loa d , t h e mo d e
in d i c ator w ill blink in green. T h e mo d e in d i c ator stops
blinking and then lights up or turns off if you reduce the
loa d on t h e tool.

Adjusting depth of cut
CAUTION:
After adjusting the depth of cut,
always tighten the lever securely.
L oosen th e lev er and mov e th e base up or d ow n. A t th e
desired depth of cut, secure the base by tightening the lever.

than one blade tooth projects below workpiece. Using
proper c ut d ept h h elps to re d u c e potential f or d anger-
ous KICKBACKS which can cause personal injury.

Sighting
Place the alignment line of the base on your intended
c utting line on t h e w orkpie c e.

Lighting the lamp
CAUTION:
Do not look in the light or see the
source of light directly.
T o turn on t h e lamp w it h out running t h e tool, pull t h e
s w it c h trigger w it h out pressing t h e lo c k-o f f button.
T o turn on t h e lamp w it h t h e tool running, press an d h ol d
t h e lo c k-o f f button an d pull t h e s w it c h trigger.
T h e lamp goes out 1 0 se c on d s a f ter releasing t h e
s w it c h trigger.

NOTE: Use a dry cloth to wipe the dirt off the lens of
t h e lamp. Be c are f ul not to s c rat c h t h e lens o f lamp, or
it may lower the illumination.
