Use
For this use the button [8] must be place in position 2
To use "Goblin" as a safety line adjustment device while conducting rope access rescue, the device must always be
connected to a fall-arrest attachment point (A) of the rescuer's EN 361 full body harness. Do not connect the device to EN
813 / EN 358 attachment points for suspension or for work positioning. The injured person must be connected to the
rescuer's harness so that he can control their position and movement at all times.
The connection can be made with a connector (fig.11a). In this case the device must be combined exclusively with EN
1891 Type A semi-static ropes with nominal diameter between 10 and 11 mm.
The connection can also be made with two connectors and a "W ebbing Lanyard 26 cm" sling (fig.11b). In this case the
device must be combined exclusively with EN 1891 Type A semi-static ropes with nominal diameter between 10.5 and 11
mm.
Use for rescue involves additional risks with respect to single use: provide additional training to rescuers. Avoid any
possibility of slack being created on the rope, avoid lateral shifts from vertical.
To calculate the minimum clearance distance, refer to fig.12a-b and chart B.
Marking
Rescue use is not covered by 89/686/EEC directive.
MAINTENANCE
After cleaning, lubricate the pins of the moving parts with silicone-based lubricant.
Note: cleaning and lubrication are recommended after each use in a marine environment.
REVISION
In addition to the normal inspection required before, during and after each use, this product must be inspected by a skilled
person every 12 months, starting from date the product is first used; this date and the subsequent checks must be
recorded on the product's life sheet: keep this literature for inspection and reference for the life of the device. Check the
legibility of the product's markings.
In case of one of the following defects are present, the product should be withdrawn from service immediately:
presence of cracks on any component,

presence of permanent deformations on any component,
Ÿ
unauthorised modifications made to the product (welds, boring...),
Ÿ
corrosion that severely alters the surface condition of the metal (does not disappear after light rubbing with sandpaper),
Ÿ
malfunction of the locking lever [3], the action lever [4], the safety lever [7], the button [8],
Ÿ
burrs, sharp edges, wear on the surface of the rope in contact with the locking lever [3], the action lever [4], the stop
Ÿ
block [6].
Any product or component showing any defect or wear, or if in doubt, should be withdrawn from service immediately. Each
