2. SAFE TY IN STRUC TIONS FOR
US ING THE MA CHINE
CAU TION! Be fore us ing the trimmer, read
care ful ly the GEN ER AL SAFE TY IN STRUC -
TIONS LEAF LET en closed with the ma chine's
doc u men ta tion.
Use only bits with shank di am e ter suit a ble for the
chuck to be used and the trimmer speed.
Be fore work ing on the trimmer it self (change
of tools, brush es, etc) move the switch to the
OFF po si tion and dis con nect from the mains
pow er sup ply.
Be fore fi t ting the bit, check that it is per fect ly
se cured in the chuck. After use, do not re lease
the ma chine from its grips un til the bit has come
com plete ly to rest.
The VIRUTEX range bit spec i fi ca tions are spe-
cial ly de signed for the fea tures of this trimmer. It
is there fore best to use bits from the wide range
avail a ble from VIRUTEX, or ones whose spec i -
fi ca tions com ply with those of VIRUTEX.
3. OP ER AT ING IN STRUC TIONS

The pow er sup ply volt age must co in cide with the
de tails shown on the spec i fi ca tions plate.
Fit ting the bit
In sert into slot A (Fig. 2) the key in clud ed with
the set of span ners for lock ing ro ta tion of the
shaft. The span ner is used to loos en nut B. Fit

the re quired bit into the chuck and car ry out the
same op er a tion in re verse or der.
4. MILL ING HEAD OPERATING
IN STRUC TIONS
Fit ting the head and ad just ing bit outlet
Insert the head into the machine as shown in
the fi gure (Fig. 2). Turn the lock nut C until it is
in the position which gives the right measure-
ment for the bit and then tighten it down using
the knob.
Setting the sup port guide and mill ing
height
Un lock ing the knob E (Fig. 3) al lows the nec-
es sary sup port guide height to be set us ing knob
F. Once set, relock with knob E.
5. MAINTENANCE
Brush es and com mu ta tor
It is im por tant to change the brush es when they
reach a min i mum length of 5 mm. Unscrew the

black plug from the hous ing and re move the
guide car bon brush es. Re place the car bon
brush es with orig i nal VIRUTEX brush es and
check that they slide smooth ly in side their
guides. Screw on the plug which en clos es
them and leave the ma chine run ning for some
15 min utes. If the com mu ta tor shows scorch ing
or rough ness, it is ad vis a ble to have it re paired
by a VIRUTEX tech ni cal serv ice centre.
Never use em ery pa per for this op er a tion.

7. NOISE AND VIBRATION LEVEL
The noise and vibration levels of this electrical
device have been measured according to the
European stan dard EN50144.
The noise level in the workplace can exceed 85
dB(A), in which case it is necessary for the user
to take noise protection measures.
8. WARRANTY
All VIRUTEX power tools are guaranteed for 12
months from the date of purchase, excluding any
damage which is a result of incorrect use or of
natural wear and tear on the machine. All repairs
should be carried out by the offi cial VIRUTEX
