5. Initial use

Positioning the scale
Place the scale on a flat and stable surface. A solid surface is a prerequisite for a precise
measurement.
1. Open the cardboard box.
2. Remove the polystyrene cover on the left
and right.
3. Lift up the upper and lower part of the
aluminium stand at the same time.
4. Insert the upper part of the aluminium
stand into the lower part and secure with
screws at the top.
5. Position the aluminium stand upright in the
cardboard box. Slide the scale to the edge...
6. ...and secure with screws at the bottom.
7. Hold the stand in place with one hand and
remove the film with the other.
8. Insert batteries the correct way round in the
underside of the scale (+/-). Stand the scale
upright on a flat surface.
