8 Removing and Fitting the Battery

► Clean the guide bar and saw chain with a soft brush or
STIHL resin solvent.

► Apply multifunctional oil in area (1) between guide bar and
saw chain.
► Fit the battery.
► Switch on the garden pruner.
Multifunctional oil is evenly distributed over the chain. The
saw chain is lubricated.

Fitting the Battery

► Push the battery (1) into the battery compartment (2) as
far as stop.
The battery (1) engages in position with a click.

► Depress both locking hooks (1).
The battery (2) is unlocked and can be removed.

9 Switching On and Off

Switching On the Garden Pruner

► Hold the garden pruner firmly with one hand on the grip
area (1) of the control handle – wrap your thumb around
the control handle.
► Hold and control the garden pruner with your other hand
on the grip surface (2).
► Depress the lockout lever (3) with your thumb and hold it
there.
