Setting the DIP Switches

Set the DIP switches according to the connections
between this unit and other disk units.
Use the DIP switches to set the following two items.
• SCSI ID: Set with the three DIP switches on the left.
• TERMINATOR: Turn the SCSI bus terminator on
or off with the rightmost DIP switch.

The factory default settings are as follows.
• SCSI ID: 0 (all three of the DIP switches on the left
are in the lower position)
• TERMINATOR: ON (the rightmost DIP switch is in
the lower position. SCSI bus is terminated.)
You do not need to change these settings if you will
connect this unit only to the ES-7 EditStation.

Setting the SCSI ID

Set the SCSI ID as follows, depending on whether this
unit is the first, second, third, or fourth disk unit,
counting from the ES-7 EditStation. All four of the
hard disks in this unit are set to the SCSI ID specified
by this setting.

4th unit 3
Note
Be sure to set the SCSI ID as shown above. The disk
unit may not operate correctly if you set the ID to any
other value.
