5. Use
First, set the rotary switch to the proper position. When the battery is low,
input jack will warn you when testing current and voltage. Input values must not exceed the limit!
• DC Voltage Measurement
1) Place the rotary switch on V
2) Never measure voltages exceeding 500V, although it is possible to get the reading. This may cause damages
to the internal circuit and danger to the user.
3) Set the rotary switch to the maximum, if the value to be tested is unknown. Then, according to the reading
requirement, adjust to a lower range until satisfactory reading is obtained.
4) If "1" is shown on the LCD, set to a higher range since the range is overloaded.
5) At every range, input impedance is 10 Mohms. This can cause measuring tolerance at high impedance. If the
circuit impedance is equal or less than 10 kohms, you can ignore the tolerance (0.1% or lower).
• AC Voltage Measurement
1) Place the rotary switch on V
2) See "DC Voltage Measurement".
• DC Current Measurement
1) Place the rotary switch on A
2) Do not measure when the value between the open voltage and earth exceeds the safety voltage of 60V
because damages may occur to the measuring object or the instrument.
3) Before measurement, cut off the power to the object to be measured. Inspect if the input terminal or rotary
switch is set to the right range. Measure the object with the power switched on.
4) If the magnitude of the current is unknown, set the rotary switch to the maximum and adjust to a lower range
until satisfactory reading is obtained.
5) If the meter is overloaded on the mA input jack, the fuse will melt. In this case, replace with a fuse of the same
specifications (F0.3A / 250V (fast) 5 x 20mm, order code FF0.3N).
6) The 10A input jack is non-fused. For safety, each measuring time should be equal to or less than 10 seconds.
Time intervals should be equal to or over 15 minutes.
• Resistance Measurement
1) Place the rotary switch on .
2) To avoid damages to the meter when measuring resistance, cut off the power of the object to be measured
and make sure there is no charge in the capacitors.
3) Test lead wires take 0.1 ~ 0.3 ohms tolerance when measuring resistance. To get an accurate reading,
subtract the short circuit values of the 2 test leads.
4) It will take several seconds for the display to become stabilized when resistance value is over 1 Mohms.
