3.1.2 Alarm Codes _____________________
In addition to the lights on the LDU, there are eight
screen displays that are used to alert the operator or
mechanic of a problem the needs to be corrected.
Alert Displays
LOW OIL
PRESSURE

LOW HYDRAULIC
FLUID LEVEL
TEMP SENSOR
OUT OF RANGE
Low Oil Pressure screen is shown, alarm sounds,
reels stop and raise to full up position, and engine oil
pressure light turns on if engine oil pressure drops
below a safe operating level. Shut mower down
immediately. Inspect oil level in engine.
High Engine Temperature screen is shown, alarm
sounds, reels stop and raise to full up position, and
coolant temperature light turns on when coolant
temperature rises above 230° F (110° C). Shut down
unit immediately. Remove debris such as leaves and
grass clippings that may be restricting air flow
through rear screen and radiator.
Low Hydraulic Fluid Level screen is shown, alarm
sounds, reels stop and raise to full up position, and
oil level light turns on when hydraulic fluid level in
tank is low. Visually inspect mower for obvious signs
of leaks around connections, hoses, and hydraulic
components.
Temp Sensor Out of Range screen is shown, alarm
sounds, reels stop and raise to full up position, and
caution light turns on when resistance in temperature
sender is out of acceptable range. Check for short
circuit or breaks in temp sensor wire.
Hydraulic Oil Filter screen is shown and reels stop
and raise to full up position when filters need to be
replaced. Return mower to service area as soon as
possible and replace filters.
Low Battery Voltage screen is shown when system
voltage drops below 12 Volts DC. If screen does not
turn off once engine starts, or battery light is also on,
check the battery charging system.

Pedal and Brake On screen is shown, and alarm
sound, when traction pedal is depressed in either
direction with parking brake switch engaged. Return
traction pedal to Neutral position, and disengage
parking brake switch before attempting to drive
mower.
CAN Comm Error screen is shown, alarm sounds,
and engine stops when error or fault is detected on
CAN bus (Controller network).
3.1.3 Diagnostic Screens _______________
As an aid in troubleshooting, the following screens appear if
an open circuit or short circuit is detected on the indicated
output.

3.1.4 Operator Mode ___________________
When ignition switch is turned to the RUN position, the
Jacobsen start-up screen is displayed for five seconds.
The start-up screen displays controller software revision
levels for the LDU and MCU.
Operator mode is used by the operator to view engine
operating hours, engine temperature, and traction
configuration. Press the black button (V) on the LDU to
toggle between the two displays.
