13. Trouble-shooting

Fault symptoms:
• No sound in Detection Mode
and Analysis Mode.
• No picture on display, no sound.
• No picture but sound when
exposed to gas.
Error messages:
• Check Sensor and Cable.
Red LED flashes quickly.
• "Wait" on display. Red LED
flashes slowly.
• Probe Error
The instrument contains no parts that can be repaired by the user and may
only be dismantled by an authorised service technician.
Opening or dismantling an instrument that is powered up can cause serious
personal injury or danger to life.
If the measures described below do not result in a functioning instrument,
send or hand in the instrument to an authorised service workshop for repair.

Measures:
• Press the + button repeatedly.
• Check the fuse (See page 7).
• Display setting may be wrong. Watch the
display from the side at low angle and aim a
lamp at the screen. Try to see the text so that
you can enter the Display Settings menu
and adjust contrast and brightness. If this
doesn't help — send in instrument for
replacement of display lamp.
• Check that the probe cable is properly
connected to the probe and the instrument. If
the fault persists, replace the probe/cable.
• The instrument is in a stabilisation phase.
Wait until "wait" disappears.
• Error in Active Probe. See Probe
