4. How to get started quickly

is very easy to commission.
PLUS
Commissioning the detector for the H50
Hand Probe is described below. Please refer
to the respective probe manual for connecting
Active Probes.
• Connect the Hand Probe to the instrument
using the probe cable. Connect the mains
lead.
• Switch on the power on the reverse side of
the unit. The display lights up showing this
picture:
• The indicator bar shows that the sensor is
stabilising and the detector is booting up.
Red Green
• The green LED should illuminate showing
that a functioning probe is connected and the
red LED should be flashing at a slow rate.
Avoid exposing the probe to hydrogen during
the stabilisation period.
• When the stabilisation period is over
(typically 1 minute) the red LED goes out
and the green LED stays on.
• The display will now show this picture:
• The leak detector is now ready for opera-
tion.
Detection Mode
• If the probe is exposed to hydrogen the Sensitivity
Volume – 5 + Menu
detector audio signal will increase in
frequency as the gas concentration increases,
and the horizontal indicator bar on the dis-
play will increase in length.
