If the sensitivity is set very high, you may
find the baseline annoyingly unsteady. In
which case, you can set a Dead Band to
mask off such variations.
Important! Be aware that the Dead Band
may also mask off small leaks if not set
properly. Use it only after careful conside-
ration. After adjustment, always check
against a reference to be shure of sufficient
sensitivity.

Dead Band is automatically reset to zero
when sensitivity is changed. You must
therefore adjust Dead Band after setting the
desired sensitivity.
Dead Band adjustment is described on page
18.
Note. If the Detection Mode is used and
the alarm function is required to be activated
at a particular calibrated level, then the unit
must be calibrated in accordance with the
instructions on page 14 and 27. The reason
for this is that the alarm is based on the
Analysis Mode when the Detection
Mode is displayed, due to inaccuracies in
the Detection Mode signal.
