4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

4.1 LIGHT SWITCH AND HORN

See fig.2 (n.17 fig.1 - n.3 fig.11).
0 = Home position.
1 = Side lights.
2 = Low beams.
3 = High beams - Push for the horn.

4.2 IGNITION SWITCH

See fig.3 (n.18 fig.1 - n.4 fig.11).
P = Parking lights.
0 = No circuit live.
1 = Instrument panel on.
2 = Start engine.
Before starting the engine, check to be certain the gear levers (n.5 and 6 fig.1,
fig.14 and fig.15) are in neutral. Depress the clutch pedal (n.1 fig. 2), to close
the"Push And Start" switch, turn the ignition key (n.18 fig. 1) to "1" to switch all
the indicator lights on; turn the key to "2" to start the engine.
Once the engine has started: release the key and it will automatically click back
to "1". Check the status indicator lights and instruments.
For models W35 - W40 - W55 - W60 – W70, see fig.13:
A = Turn the key anticlockwise to "HEAT".
B = Count to 16 (about 20 seconds).
C = Depress the accelerator pedal all the way.
D = Turn the key clockwise to "START".
C = Release the key which will click back to "ON".
The engine does not start, repeat the procedure but count only to 10.

4.3 STOPPING THE ENGINE

Pull knob n.19 fig.1.
For models W35 - W40 - W55 turn the key fig.13 to "OFF".
WARNING: The steering action of the power steering system will be
reduced if the engine accidentally stops. Depress the main brake to
allow the machine to come to a full stop.
