5.2.1 Insert-Buchsen
Bei dem Einschleifen eines Mono-Effektgeräts in
einen der Kanäle 1 – 4 wird das Kanalsignal über die
Buchse „INS" (2) ausgekoppelt und über dieselbe
Buchse wieder zurückgeführt.
Für den Anschluss ein Y-Kabel verwenden. Aus
dem Programm von MONACOR eignet sich dazu
das Kabel MCA-202 (siehe Abb. 2). Den Stereo-Ste-
cker des Kabels in die Buchse „INS" stecken. Das
zum Effektgerät gehende Ausgangssignal („Send")
liegt an der Spitze des Stereo-Steckers an, das vom
Effektgerät kommende Eingangssignal („Return")
am Ring; am Schaft liegt die gemeinsame Masse
an. Den Mono-Stecker für das Send-Signal an den
Eingang des Effektgerätes anschließen und den
Mono-Stecker für das Return-Signal an den Aus-
gangs des Effektgeräts.

5.2.2 Effektweg „FX SEND"
Mit den Effekt-Send-Reglern „FX" (11) lassen sich
die Signale der Eingangskanäle 1 bis 7/8 einzeln
auf den Effektweg mischen; der Effektweg ist post-
fader geschaltet. Das Gesamtsignal des Effektwe-
ges steht am Effekt-Send-Ausgang „FX SEND" (16)
zur Verfügung und kann einem Effektgerät zugeführt
werden; der Ausgangspegel wird mit dem Effekt-
Send-Summenregler „FX SEND" (28) eingestellt.
Das durch das Effektgerät bearbeitete Signal wird
über den Eingang „FX RETURN" (23) wieder in das
Mischpult zurückgeführt und vor dem Masterfader
auf die Signalsumme gegeben.
5.2 Effect unit
There are two possibilities to insert an effect unit
(e. g. reverberation unit, noise gate, compressor):
1. via the insert jacks (2) of the mono channels 1 to
4 (chapter 5.2.1)
2. by using the effect way "FX SEND" of the mixer
(chapter 5.2.2)
Note: by internal modification of the mixer also
the Aux way "AUX SEND" can be used as
additional effect way. See chapter 8.
5.2.1 Insert jacks
When inserting a mono effect unit into one of the
channels 1 to 4, the channel signal is picked off via
the jack "INS" (2) and returned via the same jack.
For connection use a Y cable. The cable MCA-
202 (see fig. 2) of the MONACOR product range is
suitable. Connect the stereo plug of the cable to the
jack "INS". The output signal ("Send") being sent to
the effect unit is at the tip of the stereo plug, the input
signal ("Return") returning from the effect unit is at
the ring; the common ground is at the body. Connect
the mono plug for the Send signal to the input of the
effect unit and the mono plug for the Return signal to
the output of the effect unit.

5.2.2 Effect way "FX SEND"
With the effect send controls "FX" (11) it is possible
to add the signals of the input channels 1 to 7/8 indi-
vidually to the effect way; the effect way is switched
post-fader. The total signal of the effect way is avail-

5.3 Monitoranlage für die Musiker
Der Ausspielweg „AUX SEND" ist pre-fader geschal-
tet und kann deshalb als Monitorweg genutzt wer-
den. Der Monitorweg bietet den Musikern die Mög-
lichkeit, das Musiksignal, speziell nach den Be-
dürfnissen der Musiker abgemischt, über eine Moni-
toranlage auf der Bühne abzuhören. Mit den Reg-
lern „AUX" (10) lassen sich die Signale der Ein-
gangskanäle 1 bis 7/8 einzeln auf den Monitorweg
mischen. Den Endverstärker der Monitoranlage an
den Ausgang „AUX SEND" (15) anschließen: hier
liegt das Gesamtsignal des Monitorwegs an; der
Ausgangspegel wird mit dem Regler „AUX SEND"
(26) eingestellt.
5.4 Tonaufnahmegerät
Für Tonaufnahmen den Eingang eines Stereo-Ton-
aufnahmegerätes an die Buchsen „REC" (21) an-
schließen. Der Pegel des Aufnahmesignals ist ab-
hängig von der Einstellung des Masterfaders (33).
Für die Wiedergabe der Aufzeichnung den Wie-
dergabeausgang des Tonaufnahmegerätes an den
Eingang „PLAY" (22) anschließen.
5.5 Ausgänge „PHONES" und „CTRL ROOM"
Zur Kontrolle des abgemischten Musiksignals kann
ein Stereo-Kopfhörer (Impedanz ≥ 8 Ω) und/oder –
zum Abhören in einem separaten Regieraum – eine
Monitoranlage verwendet werden. Den Kopfhörer
an den Ausgang „PHONES" (37) anschließen, den
Verstärker der Monitoranlage an den Ausgang
„CTRL ROOM" (19). Nähere Informationen zu der
Abhörfunktion finden Sie im Kap. 7.3.

2) Connect the output of the effect unit to the stereo
input "FX RETURN" (23) [in case of a mono
effect unit only use the upper jack "L"].
5.3 Monitoring system for the musicians
The Aux way "AUX SEND" is switched pre-fader and
can therefore be used as monitor way. The monitor
way offers the musicians the possibility of monitoring
the music signal, which is especially mixed accord-
ing to the requirements of the musicians, via a moni-
toring system on stage. With the controls "AUX" (10)
the signals of the input channels 1 to 7/8 can indi-
vidually be mixed to the monitor way. Connect the
power amplifier of the monitoring system to the out-
put "AUX SEND" (15): at this output the total signal
of the monitor way is present; the output level is
adjusted with the control "AUX SEND" (26).
5.4 Audio recording unit
For audio recordings connect the input of a stereo
audio recording unit to the jacks "REC" (21). The
level of the recording signal depends on the adjust-
ment of the master fader (33).
For the reproduction of the recording connect the
reproduction output of the audio recording unit to the
input "PLAY" (22).
5.5 Outputs "PHONES" and "CRTL ROOM"
To control the mixed music signal, stereo head-
phones (impedance ≥ 8 Ω) and/or – for monitoring in
a separate control room – a monitoring system can
be used. Connect the headphones to the output
5.6 Masterausgang „MAIN"
Am symmetrischen Stereo-Masterausgang „MAIN"
(17) steht das mit dem Masterfader (33) ausgesteu-
erte Gesamtsignal zur Verfügung. Hier kann z. B.
der Verstärker für die Saalbeschallung oder ein
zweites Mischpult angeschlossen werden.
5.7 Stromversorgung
Das mitgelieferte Netzgerät an den Einbaustecker
„AC POWER IN" (20) auf der Geräterückseite an-
schließen: die 3-polige Kupplung des Kabels auf-
stecken und die Verbindung durch Festdrehen der
Rändelmutter verriegeln. Den Netzstecker des Netz-
gerätes in eine Steckdose (230 V~/50 Hz) stecken.
6 Inbetriebnahme
1) Vor dem Einschalten sollten alle Ausgangsregler
[(26), (28), (33), (36)] auf Minimum gestellt wer-
den, um Einschaltgeräusche zu vermeiden.
2) Sind Kondensator- oder Elektretmikrofone, die
eine 48-V-Phantomspeisung benötigen, über
XLR-Stecker an den Buchsen „MIC/LINE" (1) an-
geschlossen, den Schiebeschalter (27) in die
obere Position stellen. Die XLR-Anschlüsse der
Buchsen werden dann mit einer 48-V-Phantom-
speisung versorgt und die rote LED „PHANTOM
POWER +48 V" (25) leuchtet.
Vorsicht!
Die Phantomspeisung nur bei ausgeschalte-
tem Mischpult ein- oder abschalten, sonst
entstehen laute Schaltgeräusche.
Die Phantomspeisung nicht einschalten, wenn
asymmetrische Mikrofone an den XLR-An-
schlüssen der Buchsen „MIC/LINE" (1) ange-
schlossen sind! Diese Mikrofone könnten
beschädigt werden.
3) Das Mischpult mit dem Schalter „POWER" (18)
auf der Geräterückseite einschalten. Zur Anzeige
der Betriebsbereitschaft leuchtet die rote LED
"PHONES" (37), the amplifier of the monitoring
system to the output "CRTL ROOM" (19). Detailed
information on the monitoring function can be found
in chapter 7.3.
5.6 Master output "MAIN"
The master signal controlled with the master fader
(33) is available at the balanced stereo master out-
put "MAIN" (17). At this output e. g. the amplifier for
the PA application in the hall or a second mixer can
be connected.
5.7 Power supply
Connect the supplied power supply unit to the chas-
sis mount plug "AC POWER IN" (20) on the rear side
of the unit: mount the 3-pole inline jack of the cable
and lock the connection by tightening the knurled
nut. Connect the mains plug of the power supply unit
to a socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
6 Setting into Operation
1) Prior to switching-on, all output controls [(26),
(28), (33), (36)] should be set to minimum to
avoid switching-on noise.
2) If capacitor or electret microphones requiring a
48 V phantom power are connected via XLR
plugs to the jacks "MIC/LINE" (1), set the sliding
switch (27) to the upper position. The XLR
connections of the jacks are then supplied with a
48 V phantom power and the red LED "PHAN-
TOM POWER +48 V" (25) lights up.
Caution!
Switch the phantom power on or off only with
the mixer switched off, otherwise loud switch-
ing noise comes into being.
Do not switch on the phantom power when
unbalanced microphones are connected to
the XLR connections of the jacks "MIC/LINE"
(1)! These microphones might be damaged.
