8.3 Address spaces

The following address spaces are available:

PCI base address 3 allows using the 16 bit mode of the COM20022. This
mode is only implemented for the data register. All other registers will
have 8 bit size. Thus the 8 MSBs will be without significance for 16 bit
accesses.
PCI base address 2 and 5 are provided for fast data transfer between the
host and the SOHARD ARCNET card. The SOHARD drivers support this
mode.
In case you wish to use this mode for applications of your own, you are
kindly asked to contact the manufacturer.

8.4 Setting the access mode

The COM20022 is operated in non-multiplexed mode. This mode is set
after the software is reset by specific accesses to the ARCNET controller
which must be executed by the software. Otherwise the COM20022 will
not operate correctly.
SOHARD drivers will execute these accesses automatically.
