6.6 Re-configuration of interface modules with modular
devices
Only re-configure the device when dismounted and disconnected from the
PC.

7 Introduction

SOHARD offers a series of PC slot cards for ARCNET communication.
Both PCI and PCIe cards from SOHARD are plug-in cards for computers
with PCI or PCI Express bus. The PCI cards are available for normal PCs
as well as for PC/104 Systems.
ARCNET controller is the COM20022. The PCI cards have a 32bit wide
data bus, the PCI-Express cards are connected thru Single-Lane to the
PCI Express bus. Both assure instantaneous ARCNET transmissions.
The PC cards with coaxial or RS-485 interface are single-board cards.
The other variants i.a. those featuring optical interfaces are compound
cards built like sandwiches.
The PCI-104 card requires an additional ARCNET Interface module.

8 Function

8.1 Setting the card identity (SH ARC-PCI104 only)

Due to the structure of PC/104-Plus and PCI-104 systems a PCI-104 card
cannot be identified by means of its physical position. Therefore each
card in the system has to be assigned a unique identification code.
With SH ARC-PCI104 this is done by setting a dual DIP switch.
