9. Always wear safety goggles. A mask should also be used if the operation generates dust.
10. Connect the dust removal equipment. If any dust recovery systems are available, make sure they are connected and used correctly.
11. Take care of the electrical cord. Never pull the cord to disconnect it from the socket. Keep the cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
12. Secure the workpiece. As far as possible, use clamps or a vice to hold the workpiece. Do not hold the workpiece in place with your hands.
13. Do not bend over the tool. Keep your balance at all times.
14. Keep the tools in perfect condition. Keep tools sharp and clean for maximum efficiency and safety. Follow the instructions while lubrica-
ting and changing accessories. Regularly check the cord and replace it if damaged. Keep the handles dry, clean and free of oil and grease.
15. Disconnect the tool when not in use, before maintenance work and before changing accessories such as blades, drill bits, cutters, etc.
16. Keep away any tightening and adjusting keys. Get into the habit of making sure that tightening and adjusting keys have been moved
away from the tool before starting it up.
17. Avoid unintentional starting up. Make sure that the switch is set to OFF before you connect the tool.
18. Only use extension cords designed for outdoor use. While using the tool outdoors, only use extension cords that have been designed for
outdoor use, marked to that effect.
19. Stay alert. Always watch what you are doing and exercise common sense. Do not use the tool when tired or under the influence of drugs,
alcohol or medication.
20. Inspect all parts for damage. Before continuing to use the tool, inspect any safety guard or other part for damage, in order to make sure
that it is operating satisfactorily and fulfilling its purpose. Check that moving parts are properly aligned, not jamming and not broken. Also,
check the assembly or any other condition that could affect operation. Any damaged part or guard must be repaired or replaced in an appro-
ved after-sales service centre. Do not use the tool if the switch is not operating correctly.
21. Warning : the use of accessories that are not recommended in this manual may give rise to a risk of injury.
22. Have the tool repaired by a qualified technician. This electric tool has been manufactured in accordance with appropriate safety requi-
rements. Repairs may only be carried out by a qualified person using original spare parts. Otherwise, they may be very hazardous for the
user.
23. Plugs of electrical tools must be adapted to their sockets. Never modify a plug in any way. Do not use adapters with tools that are connec-
ted to the earth.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR CIRCULAR SAWS
1. WARNING : Take care to follow basic safety rules while using power tools in order to reduce the risk of fires, electric shocks and injuries.
Read all guidelines before using the product and keep these instructions.
2. ALWAYS use the blade guard, riving knife and push stick for through sawing. Through sawing is when you saw through the workpiece
with a lengthwise or cross cut.
3. ALWAYS hold the workpiece firmly against the mitre fence or the rip fence.
4. ALWAYS use a push stick for ripping narrow stock. For more details about push sticks, please refer to the lengthwise sawing sections in
these instructions.
5. NEVER work in a free-hand manner, that is using your hand to support or guide the workpiece. Always use the mitre fence or the rip fence
to position and guide the workpiece.
6. NEVER stand in line with the blade. Always keep your hands away from the path of the blade.
7. NEVER reach around or over the blade.
8. MOVE the rip fence out of the way while cross cutting.
9. NEVER use the rip fence as a cut-off gauge while cross cutting.
10. FEED DIRECTION. Always feed the workpiece against the blade or cutting tool, in the opposite direction to the rotation of the blade or
cutting tool.
11. WHEN MOULDING, NEVER pass the workpiece between the fence and the cutter block.
12. NEVER attempt to unjam the blade without first SWITCHING OFF the saw. Switch it off immediately so as to not damage the motor.
13. PROVIDE SUPPORT on the rear or sides of the saw for wide or long workpieces.
14. AVOID KICKBACKS (piece thrown back towards you) by :
A. Keeping the blade sharp.
B. Ensuring that the fence and blade remain parallel.
C. Always using the riving knife, anti-kickback pawls and blade guard.
D. Not releasing the workpiece until it is fully sawn.
E. Not ripping workpieces that are twisted or warped with no straight edge for guiding along the fence.
15. AVOID awkward hand positions that could result in slipping onto the cutting tool.
16. NEVER use solvents to clean plastic parts. Solvents may dissolve or damage the material. Just wipe plastic parts clean with a soft moist
cloth.
17. Secure the saw PERMANENTLY onto a supporting surface before using it.
18. NEVER cut metals or materials liable to produce hazardous dust.
19. ALWAYS use the saw in a well ventilated area. Clear the sawdust away regularly. Take care to remove the sawdust which collects inside
