Conventional Transformers
When conventional transformers are used, the primary
circuit of each transformer must be protected against
short-circuits in accordance with the manufacturer's
instructions.
Only safety transformers in accordance with DIN VDE
0551 are to be used.
It is not permissible to switch the load via a serial
switching contact, since overcurrents and overvoltages
which may destroy the dimmer can occur upon
reconnection.
The secondary open-circuit start-up or operation of
conventional transformers is not permissible.
Always operate conventional transformers with the
rated transformer load.
