7. Operation

7.1

Authorisation

Depending on the configuration, using the device may
require prior authorisation. The following possibilities exist:
„ No authorisation is required. All users can charge.
„ Authorisation is run using the external switching con-
tact.

Charging the vehicle

Risk of injury from using unsuitable aids
Use of adaptor plugs, extensions, or additional charging
cables in connection with the device can result in electric
shock or cable fire.
f Use only the charging cable intended for the vehicle
and the device.
f Do not use adaptor plugs, extensions, or additional
charging cables to charge the vehicle.
f Unroll the charging cable completely.
f Connect the charging cable to your vehicle. Authorize
if necessary.

ATTENTION
Damage to the charging cable
Tensile stress on the charging cable may cause cable
breaks and other damage.
f Remove the charging cable only by pulling the plug
from the charging socket.
f End the charging process on the vehicle.
f Remove the charging cable from the vehicle at the
connector plug.
f Fit on the protective cap.
f Hang or store the charging cable kink-free.

8. Servicing

8.1

Electric shock hazard when devices are damaged
If a damaged device is used people can be seriously
injured or killed through an electric shock.
f Do not use the device if it is damaged.
f Mark the damaged device to ensure that no one con-
tinues using it.
f Eliminate damage immediately.
f If necessary take the device out of service.
The performance of regular inspection and maintenance
tasks supports trouble-free and safe operation of the
device and contributes to increasing its service life. Thus
any fault sources can be detected early on and hazards
can be avoided. If it is determined that the device is
damaged, the damage must be rectified immediately by
a qualified electrician.
f Check the device daily, i.e. at each charging, for opera-
tional readiness and external damage.
Examples of damage:
„ Defective housing / front panel (e.g. severe deforma-
tions, cracks, breaks).
„ Defective or missing components (e.g. protective ele-
ments, hinged lid).
„ Illegible or missing safety labels.
A maintenance contract with a responsible ser-
vice partner guarantees regular tests.
