1 Safety
1.1 Intended use
The three-phase gearmotor F 414 is used to drive barrel pumps for fast, safe draining or
transferring of containers and barrels in non-hazardous areas.

Risk of injury due to open drive shaft.
Never operate motors without pump.
Never leave the pump unattended.
Position the pump to prevent it from falling into the container.
Only operate the pump with a suitable hose.
Secure the hose from sliding off the hose connector.
The pump should not be immersed deeper into the liquid than
the outlet connection.
Use hearing protection.
If the motor is used in remote-controlled operation, secure the motor against
accidental start-up. The motor automatically restarts after a power failure.
Check the direction of rotation of the motor before start-up (direction of rota-
tion according to the arrow on the motor).
We recommend providing the power supply in damp locations with fault cur-
rent breakers.
Dirt, high humidity or material damage to the motor housing may lead to
dangerous electric shocks.
Only start three-phase motors with an upstream motor-protection switch
installed.
Installation work on three-phase motors may only be carried out by qualified
personnel.
Check the mains connection cable for damage before every use.
Changes to the mains connection may only be carried out by qualified elec-
tricians.
