5.5 Malfunctions and remedies

Fault
Load is not completely lifted
(lifting piston does not move out
completely)
Load is not lifted at all
Oil leak/oil film on pressure screw
or on venting valve with valve
closed
The specified errors do not constitute grounds for complaint.

Cause
Oil shortage
Permissible lifting force exceeded
Lowering screw open
Pressure screw loose
Valve seat of the lowering screw
leaky due to foreign objects/
particles
Valve dirty
Valve defective
Oil filling plug is defective, vacuum
in the tank
Slight overpressure in the pump
container due to unintentionally ac-
tuating the pump linkage or strong
sunlight exposure while in transport
condition (venting valve closed).
Jacks of the JH / JH EX / JHS series
Error remedy
Refill oil, paying attention to the
filling level.
Use an additional or a larger jack.
Close the lowering screw.
Tighten the pressure screw.
Press in valve seat again; carefully
close lowering screw multiple times.
Remove valve and clean.
Remove valve and replace.
Replace oil filling screw.
Briefly open the venting valve; do
not actuate the pump linkage when
valve is in transport condition. Wipe
off oil film with rag.
