• Tap: The load will be lifted briefly.
• Keep pressed: The load is lifted without stopping.
• Release: Stops the lifting operation.
> Place suitable supports (square timbers) under the
load and secure.
> To lower, open the load lowering screw slowly in
the counter-clockwise direction.
NOTE
Close the lowering screw again.
NOTE
When laterally lifting a load, make sure that the toe
is not loaded on only one side. Otherwise, this could
damage the toe.
WARNING
If the jack is lowered too quickly, oil might escape
through the oil filling screw. There is a danger of injury
if the transported load drops.
This basic principle always applies:
Lifting speed = lowering speed
If a small amount of oil leaks if lowering
is done too quickly, this does not consti-
tute grounds for complaint.

4.4 Lifting and transporting a load

DANGER
Before a jack is used on the load to be lifted, the
centre of gravity of the load to be lifted must be
determined. Otherwise, tipping or slipping can lead to
injuries or even to fatal accidents. Always determine
the centre of gravity before using JUNG jacks.
To determine the centre of gravity, see „Determining
the centre of gravity and positioning the transport
trolley and jack", page 49.
WARNING
Always place the jack on a flat, firm, non-slip surface.
Observe the point load and make sure the ground is
sufficiently stable.
Before each use, check the toe for damage, such as
cracks or deformation and replace if necessary.
H = 0 mm
> Place the toe of the jack at a suitable position at
the load to be lifted, e.g. in recesses on the load. If
the load has clearance from the floor, position the
jack under the load.
> Swivel the swivel feet of the jack laterally.
