For a correct selection of pump in the variable speed systems, all
operation range (Q-H) of the pump must be considered (Fig. 3).
As the pump works most of the time in partial load, the best
efficiency point (ηopt) should not coincide with the maximum duty
point (Qmax). In a correct selection, the efficiency at maximum
required flow (Qmax) shall not be less than 10 efficiency points
less than best efficiency (ηopt).
