Removing the Seating Unit from, and Mounting it to, the Mobility Base
For transporting the Kimba Spring in a car or to divide the its weight into two more manageable loads, the seat can
easily be removed from the mobility base.
This also makes it easier to transfer the seat between indoor and outdoor mobility bases.
While standing behind the seating unit, position yourself on the right side. Hold the head area of the seat back with one
hand.
Now reach beneath the seat and pull the angled disengaging lever (Fig. 11, item C) towards the footrest assembly.
The retaining claw (Fig. 41, item A) will release the seat support fixture (Fig. 13). Tilt the seat to the rear and remove
it by lifting upwards.
Choose the direction you wish the seat to face when you remount it on the mobility base. Hold the seat as described
above and first put the locking unit (Fig. 9, item C) at an angle of approx. 45° on the back tube of the seat support
fixture (Fig. 13). Press the front of the seat edge down onto the mobility base until the seat audibly snaps in place.
Make sure it's secure by giving the seat a few short tugs.

For transport, the pushbar (Fig. 14, item A) can be folded to the
front after pulling the locking slides (Fig. 14, item C).
As described in section "Unpacking and Setting up".
The angle of the seat support fixtures can be adjusted after
releasing the clamping levers (Fig. 14, item D).
Attention: Be sure the front wheels are not restricted in their
freedom of motion due to any seat adjustments (seat depth
footrest height/knee angle). Change the seat inclination if
necessary.
Please refer to section "Unpacking and Setting up".
The brakes function both as a controlled brake as well as a
parking brake. To activate the brakes, pull the brake handles
completely and engage the retaining claw with your index finger.
To release the brake, pull the brake handle slightly and the
retaining claw will open.
Attention:
Use both brakes for optimal braking.
To apply the brake, press the brake pedal (Fig. 15) down with
your foot. To release the brake, pull the brake pedal upwards
with your foot.
The height of the pushbar can be adjusted after releasing the
clamping levers (Fig. 14, item B).
Ratchet joints on the pushbars allow the push handle to be
adjusted to a convenient height.
Press the two push buttons (Fig. 16) on the ratchet joints to
bring the pushbar into the desired position.
The distance between the two seat support fixtures (and thus
the frame length) can be adjusted by releasing the star grips
(Fig. 14, item E).
The spring power setting may only be changed by the
healthcare provider.
Make sure that the same bore hole is used on either side for the
spring power setting (Fig. 17).
