Preface

The Kimba Spring pediatric postural positioning system is a quality product offering versatile use in everyday life.
Before using your Kimba Spring please read sections: "Unpacking and Setting up" and "Safety Instructions". Please
keep these instructions in a safe place.
The section "Accessories" presents additional parts for the Kimba Spring, which may extend the range of application
and increase the Kimba Spring's comfort.
If you have any further questions, or if you have any problems, please contact your healthcare provider.
The design, as described in these Instructions for Use, is subject to technical alterations without notice.
Application – Indications

The prescription of rehab carts or strollers/buggies is generally indicated for the severely disabled, especially for
children and young people who are unable to walk, need to be transported and are unable to operate a wheelchair
themselves.
Inability to walk or very serious walking impediment due to:
• Palsies
• Paralysis
• Loss of limbs
• Defective and/or deformed limbs
• Joint contractures
• Joint defects
• Other diseases

Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH as manufacturer with sole responsibility declares that the Kimba Spring pediatric
postural positioning system conforms to the requirements of the 93/42/EEC Guidelines.

Service

Service and repairs on the Kimba Spring may only be carried out by Otto Bock healthcare providers. Should any
problems arise, please contact the supplier of your Kimba Spring. Any necessary repairs will be made exclusively with
authentic Otto Bock spare parts.

Safety Instructions

Before using the Kimba Spring, you should become familiar with the handling, function and use of the product.
• The product may be used only on solid level ground.
• Use your Kimba Spring properly. For instance, do not drive into obstacles (including steps, curbs) without braking.
• For clearing obstacles such as steps and curbs, tilt the Kimba Spring onto the rear wheels (to ascend, pull the
Kimba Spring backwards; to descend, slowly lower the Kimba Spring forward).
• Stairs should be ascended/descended only with assistance from an attendant. If devices such as ramps or elevators
are available, they should be used. If such devices are missing, two attendants must carry the Kimba Spring over the
obstacle.
• Pay particular attention when on slopes and inclines to prevent
- the child from falling out of the Kimba Spring;
- the Kimba Spring from tipping over;
- the Kimba Spring from rolling away.
