2. Folding: First flip up the (platform) footplate or the individual footplates. Take hold of the sling from underneath in the
middle and pull upwards. The wheelchair will then fold up. To fold your wheelchair until it is as small as possible, e.g., to
put into a car, you can remove the footrests (depending on the model). For this purpose, open the latch from the out-side
and swing the footrest to the side. Then the footrest only has to be drawn out of the frame tubing. Warning: Do not put
your fingers between the seat upholstery and the tubing of the chair when opening or closing it.
3. Folding backrests (Ref. 115 and 110) (Fig 1)
To fold the backrest, pull upwards the locking piece (A) and then pull downwards the back rest. To assemble: Pull upwards
the back rest and pull downwards the plastic piece (A) to lock it and to secure it in this position. Warning: Be careful not
to catch your fingers when folding down or raising the backrest.
4. reclining backrest (Refs. 121, 141) (fig.2)
Lowering the backrest: Loose the screw knobs (C) at the bottom of the racks. Lift the two handgrips (A) upwards at the
same time, while keeping the chair steady by its handles. This movement releases the lower racks (B) from their housings
leaving the backrest free to be reclined. Hold the backrest firmly to prevent it from dropping suddenly. If this should happen,
quickly let go off the handgrips (A) so that the racks fall into place and prevent it from falling. With the handgrips (A) in an
upward position, adjust the backrest to the desired angle using the racks' notches. Once this angle has been obtained,
ensure that the racks have slipped into their notches (this operation should be done to prevent accidents caused by a
sudden drop of the backrest). Release the handgrips(A). Tighten the screw at the bottom of the racks.
Raising the backrest; Proceed in the same way as for reclining the back rest.
Warning: Be careful not to catch your fingers when folding down or raising the backrest.
Warning: After the third the posterior stability of the chair is reduced, so proceed carefully.
Warning: Before raising the backrest, be sure that the user's hands or arms are not between the seat and the
reclined backrest, to avoid the risk of trapping them when raising the backrest.
Warning: The reclining back is only to be used in combination with the active anti-tips setting
Warning: The reclining back is only to be used in combination with a stabilizer bar. Please always make sure that
the stabilizer bar is locked in place on both sides.
Warning: Before folding the wheelchair, make sure that the stabilizer bar is removed
Warning: When adjusting the back angle, be careful not to get your fingers caught.
Warning: Before adjusting the back angle, put the anti tip tubes in to the active position
Warning: Never travel in the chair with the back-rest reclined.
5. Elevating legrest (Fig. 3) To elevate:Lift your lower leg and press the release button. Pull the legrest upwards and
adjust it to the desired height. As soon as you release the button, the legrest will click back into place. To lower: Lift your
lower leg and press the release button to unlock the legrest to lower it. As soon as you release the button, the legrest will
click back into place.
Warning: The elevating legrest is not allowed to be adjusted into the lowest position to avoid any interference
with the casters.
Warning: Keep hands clear of the adjustment mechanism between the frame and the movable parts of the legrest
while elevating or lowering the legrest.
