Pendulum-stroke jigsaw S 203
n Always lay the power cord (5) to the rear
away from the jigsaw.
n Clamp the workpiece if it is not securely
positioned by its own weight.
n Use only jigsaw blades with matching
tool holder.
n Before using the jigsaw, check that the
saw blade has been correctly inserted
and attached. Switch on the machine at
no load for 30 seconds!
Interrupt the test run immediately if
violent vibrations occur or other damage
is established. Check the machine to
determine the cause.
n Do not cut workpieces which are thicker
than the maximum permitted cutting
depth of the jigsaw.
n Do not work on materials which release
hazardous substances (e.g. asbestos).
n Do not use the jigsaw in rain or a damp
environment.
n If jigsaws are used outdoors or are
exposed to excessive amounts of
metal dust, connect to the jigsaw via
a residual-current-operated circuit-
breaker (tripping current maximum
30 mA).
n Use only extension cables permitted
for outdoor use.
n Identify the jigsaw with stickers only.
Do not drill any holes into the housing.
Damage to property!
n The mains voltage and the voltage
specifications on the rating plate (12)
must correspond.

Danger!
Before carrying out any work on the power
tool, always pull out the mains plug.
Before switching on the
power tool
n Unpack the jigsaw and check that no
parts are missing or damaged.
Switch on and off (S 203 BVE)
Brief operation without engaged switch
rocker:
n Press and hold down the switch.
n To switch off, release the switch.
Continuous operation with engaged
switch rocker:
Caution!
Following a power failure, the switched-on
machine will start running again.
– Press and hold down the switch.
