5. Maintenance

5.1 Preventive Maintenance

5.1.1 FSV-0 Metering Valve
The FSV-0 metering valve must be regularly inspected for wear. To prolong the life of
the valve, inspect the internal rubber lining regularly for wear and replace when necessary.
5.1.2 Dust Container
The dust container should be emptied at regular intervals. Check the container
initially at least once a day or when adding media, the frequency thereafter should be
based on use, contamination and friability of the media.
5.1.3 Air Line Filter
The cabinet comes with a manual drain airline Àlter. Drain the airline Àlter at least
once a day or more often if necessary, or if water vapor is coming out the nozzle. Media
Áow is hindered by moist air. If moisture cannot be eliminated, a refrigerated air dryer could
be necessary.
5.1.4 Blast Hose and Couplings
Check blast hose for excessive wear, particularly on the outside radius, to prevent
punctures. Check couplings and coupling gaskets for leakage and wear.
5.2 Service Maintenance
5.2.1 Gloves
Included for operator comfort are special static-dissipating gloves. Gloves must
be changed periodically as they will wear out. Excessive static shocks could be the Àrst
indication of deterioration.
