Important Information
Protecting against hearing damage
Keep the handsfree loudspeaker on the rear side of the handset away
from your ears!
The signal tone's level of more than 80 dB (A) may cause severe damage
to your ears. In particular this damage impends if the distance between the
handsfree loudspeaker and your ears is too low or if your ears will be

exposed to a signal of this strength frequently.
Operating the rechargeable battery pack
• Rechargeable batteries must be used in the appropriate manner. Avaya
is not liable for damage which occurs due to inappropriate handling of
the battery pack. Follow the Notes on the rechargeable battery pack on
page 52, please!
• If batteries leak in extreme cases, you must reckon with escaping
electrolyte or gases. Put the unit out of operation and return it to the
after-sales service. Whitish deposits on the housing or on the battery as
well as unusual or pungent smells indicate leaks.
• Protect yourself against cauterisations and poisoning by avoiding to
inhale escaping gases and direct skin contact with leaking batteries. If in
doubt, consult a doctor!
• Remove the batteries from the unit prior to dispatch or storage during
extended periods in order to avoid deep discharge and damage.
• Do not throw the battery into a fire, it might explode.
• To avoid injury and fire damage, do not allow the contacts of the battery
to come into contact with conductive objects or to be short-circuited.
• Electric and electronic equipment and components marked with a striked
out dustbin may contain substances which are harmful to
the environment. Thus, any equipment or component
bearing such a mark must not be disposed of together with
household waste! Take the hazardous waste materials to a
municipal collection centre for hazardous waste or to your
dealer where they can be disposed of in an
environmentally friendly manner. Please dispose of
discharged batteries only.
