CAUTION! Important note:
• Please regularly check the operation of the safety valve. Be careful when cleaning, to ensure the
safety valve is clean and operational and that no cleaning residues or scale are contaminating,
etc.! Regularly check the state of the filter funnel, the filter cartridge and the sealing ring. If you
discover any signs of damage or wear and tear, please do not use the espresso maker any longer
for your own personal safety!
• Never use the espresso maker when dry or with very little water.
• Be careful during operation to ensure the reservoir is not filled beyond the maximum fill capacity
MAX!
• Caution! Please be careful during the operation of the espresso maker, since the metallic surfaces
become very hot during operation. Do not touch the device during the heating process. Only
open the espresso maker, once the metal has thoroughly cooled down.

Filling the reservoir:

• Detach the reservoir from the jug, as described.
• Fill up the reservoir with fresh cold tap water. The water level must be
between the fill markers indicated on the inside of the jug (lowest =
scale 3 / highest = scale 6).
CAUTION! Please note that if there is an insufficient amount of water,
the device may overheat. Using too much water may adversely affect
the function of the pressure valve in the reservoir.

Filling the filter with espresso powder

• Be careful to ensure that the filter cartridge and sealing ring are
inserted correctly into the base of the jug.
• Insert the filter funnel into the reservoir.
• Fill up the filter funnel with coarse ground espresso powder. Do not
use normal coffee powder, since this may block the filter!
CAUTION! Be careful to ensure that the espresso powder is filled
gently without applying pressure, since this may block the filter, cause
excess pressure and lead to the device being damaged.

Preparing espressos

• Open the lid of the jug and screw the espresso unit clockwise onto the
riser within the jug.
• Subsequently, secure the lid of the jug again and ensure this remains
closed without fail during the heating process!
• Plug in the base unit to a plug that has been installed in accordance
with regulations.
• Now screw the jug onto the reservoir filled with water.
• Be careful to ensure that the marker point
vertically opposite that for "Closed" .
• Be careful to ensure that the safety valve of the reservoir and the jug
spout are not directed at people! Risk of burns from escaping steam!
• Place the device on the base unit. When doing so, the guard socket of
the base unit must be connected to the interconnecting opening of the
device.
• Switch on the device by using the On/Off switch (ON = switch to On).
The operating lamp within the switch then lights up and the device
begins heating up the water.
• The device is equipped with an automatic stop motion mechanism.
This means that the device automatically switches itself off as soon the water goes out from the
reservoir into the jug. When the device switches itself off, the operating lamp goes out.
• Subsequently, lift the device from the base unit and pour an espresso into a cup.
• Always unplug the device after use.
