• Each time before use, fill the reservoir with fresh cold tap water. Do not fill the reservoir with hot
water.
• Never fill up the reservoir while the device remains hot.
• The reservoir must never be filled with carbonated water!
• Only fill the filter with coarse ground espresso powder. Do not use normal coffee powder, since
this may block the filter!
• Be careful to ensure that the espresso powder is filled gently without applying pressure, since this
may block the filter, cause excess pressure and lead to the device being damaged.
• Never leave the device unsupervised during operation.
• The device becomes very hot during operation. Only touch at the intended areas of the control
panel and handle. Risk of burns!
• Be careful to ensure that the lid of the device is correctly secured in place during the heating
process. Risk of burns!
• Be careful to ensure that the device openings (e.g. like the pressure valve) and the pouring outlet
of the jug are not directed in the vicinity of either people or objects, since hot steam may escape
from the openings during the heating process.
• Only use the device and its accessories for the intended use. Do not use the device to filter any
liquids other than water or to boil or filter coffee already made a second time.
• Never use the reservoir and jug on a hob or other similar heating source. The reservoir and jug
must only be used with the base unit supplied!
• Never place the device or the jug into a microwave to reheat espresso/cappuccino that has
already cooled down.
• Be careful to ensure that the device is not unsupervised and left to operate without water. Always
unplug from the mains when not in use.
• Before cleaning, always unplug the mains plug from the mains socket and allow the device to
thoroughly cool down.
• Children are unaware of the dangers that arise when handling electric devices. Keep device
away from children. Be especially careful when using the device in the vicinity of children!
• Keep packaging materials, such as plastic bags and foam items out of the reach of children. Risk
of suffocation!
• Never use the device when it has been damaged, has fallen off or fails to work perfectly.
• Check the device, power cord and mains plug regularly for any visual damage. If any damage
has been detected, do not use the device under any circumstances. Do not attempt to repair the
device yourself.
• Repair work must only be carried out by qualified and specialized staff.
• The device is only for use in private households and not designed for commercial use.
