8.3 Resistance measurements

Select the desired function
BENNING CM 12.

Connect the black safety measuring lead to the COM socket O on the
BENNING CM 12.

Connect the red safety measuring lead to the socket + P on the
BENNING CM 12.

Connect the safety measuring leads to the measuring points. Read the
measurement value displayed in the digital display J .

Select the desired function

Connect the black safety measuring lead to the COM socket O on the
BENNING CM 12.

Connect the red safety measuring lead to the socket + P on the
BENNING CM 12.

Connect the safety measuring leads to the measuring points. Read the
measurement value displayed in the digital display J .

For a standard Si diode applied in conduction direction, a conduction voltage
between 0.40 V and 0.80 V is displayed. "OL" indicates an interruption and
"bAd" indicates a short-circuit inside the diode.
-
For a diode applied in reverse direction, a negative forward voltage between
-0.40 V and -0.80 V is indicated.

Connect the black safety measuring lead to the COM socket O on the
BENNING CM 12.

Connect the red safety measuring lead to the socket + P on the
BENNING CM 12.

Connect the safety measuring leads to the measuring points. If the line resis-
tance between the COM jack O and the jack + P falls below the adjustable
limiting value (30 Ω to 100 Ω), the integrated buzzer of the BENNING CM 12
sounds and the red LED 3 lights up.

8.6 Capacity measurement

Discharge capacitors fully before measurement! Never apply
voltage to the sockets for capacitance measurement as this
may cause irreparable damage to the unit. A damaged unit may
represent an electrical hazard!

Select the desired function

Determine the polarity of the capacitor and discharge capacitor completely.

Connect the black safety measuring lead to the COM socket O on the
BENNING CM 12.

Connect the red safety measuring lead to the socket + P on the
BENNING CM 12.
-
Contact the discharged capacitor with the safety measuring leads observing
correct polarity. Read the measurement value on the digital display J of the
BENNING CM 12.

Select the desired function
